This charming tour from Bucharest to Transylvania is a great option for discovering more of what Transylvania has to show in a 4-day tour. We will discover famous castles, medieval citadels and towns, an impressive salt mine and breathtaking landscapes.
Peles Castle is very much connected to our Royal Family, being built by our first king, Carol I of Romania, in 1883. This unique building was meant to be a royal summer residence and, above all, the cradle of this Dynasty in Romania.
Brasov, a typical Transylvanian medieval town, placed at the mountain foot. Here you'll see the Black Church - the largest gothic church in this part of Europe.
Sibiu is a charming city in Transylvania which impresses with its medieval part
Sighisoara is a stunning medieval UNESCO sites. We believe Vlad the Impaler - Dracula was born in Sighisoara and we will see here his father's house.
Alba Iulia - Alba Carolina Citadel is the largest fortified complex in Romania and one of de best preserved fortifications in this part of Europe

Accommodation Type
3-star good rated hotel/guest house, in standard double/twin room, in double room occupancy. This 3-star standard is considered good in Romania, the rooms have en suite bathrooms and many other facilities. For your reference only, please check Bella Muzica Hotel in Brasov. Please remember, this is just an example, and not necessarily all the facilities present here will be included in your accommodation
Tour payment & Cancellation
In order to confirm your reservation, You are going to pay a deposit, in most cases 15 % (but we will set the amount according to your group size and any particularities of your tour) of the tour price, and this amount is non-refundable. The rest of the tour price will be paid 30 days before the tour date/departure date, and it is non-refundable. If you will book the tour in the last 30 days up to the tour date, you will pay 100% of the tour price (or as agreed) in advance, and the tour price is non-refundable. The advance payment (deposit) will be charged via bank transfer or card via payment link (PayPal), at our choice (depending on the country of payment). For the rest of the tour price we are going to use, at our choice, the payment method (cash, bank transfer, card payment using PayPal and a payment link, card payment using in-person POS payment or some other options). If you will cancel your tour we will keep the amount you have already paid.

Itinerary - Charming Transylvania Tour in 4 Days by Eddie
Day 1
Bucharest - Sinaia - Brasov - Sighisoara - 307 km
Our tour starts in the morning and we head north toward Brasov. First stop is Sinaia, our beautiful royal city and mountain resort, where we are going to visit Peles Castle, the former royal summer residence of The Royal House of Romania. After crossing the picturesc Carpathian Mountains we step into the gothic Transylvania, and the next stop will Brasov City. Here we expore the Old Town and admire the Council Square, the Black Church and the Rope Street. After your lunch time and free time in Brasov we head to Sighisoara Medieval Citadel - UNESCO site, and after the hotel check-in and depending on the arrival time we could have a short walking tour or you could have free time.
Day 2
Sighisoara - Turda - Alba Iulia - 200 km
After breakfast we leave Sighisoara and stop to visit Turda Salt Mine. The end of the day will be in Alba Iulia, and after the hotel check-in we could explore Alba Carolina Citadel.
Day 3
Alba Iulia - Hunedoara - Sibiu - 212 km
In the morning we will head to Hunedoara and visit Corvin Castle. Last stop is Sibiu and after the hotel check-in we will discover the historical and medieval part of this wonderful Transylvanian city.
Day 4
Sibiu - Cozia - Bucharest - 282 km
In the morning we could explore more of the historical and medieval part of Sibiu After lunch we leave Sibiu to Bucharest, visiting Cozia Monastery on our way.
Our Charming Transylvania Tour ends in Bucharest after 3 beautiful days.
For private tours - by request and only if possible - we could skip (ongoing) some of the tour components in order to have more time for others. Also, we could have a different tour configuration, based on a prior request (the tour price might be different in this case).
The order of visiting the places can be changed before or during the tour, at our sole discretion
Good things to know before you book this Medieval Transylvania Tour in 3 Days by Eddie
- This tour includes components that are not suitable for persons having walking disabilities (especially Bran Castle involves climbing stairs). Therefore, please contact us and we will try to offer the best option to you.
- Between 1st of September 2023 and 14th of April 2024 Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and therefore we stop and visit only the exterior part and the gardens. For all the rest of the year Peles Castle is closed on Mondays.
- Due to the traffic conditions or other reasons we cannot guarantee the return hour or the total number of hours agreed for this tour.
- During weekend time and official holidays, usually the traffic level is higher and our tour could last more hours than specified.
- Eddex Travel cannot be held responsible/liable if during our tour we find any site closed without a prior notice or we can't arrive in time to visit the attractions of the tour and also we cannot be made responsible/liable for any reason from the moment you arrive
