Bucharest to Constanta and Mamaia Day Trip - Private Tour
A mixture of culture, history, yummy cuisine, sun and fun - A great summery day tour by Eddie
This Bucharest to Constanta and Mamaia day trip is one of the most popular during the summer. From Bucharest to Constanta we have around 220 km. Constanta is the 5th largest city in Romania, a harbor and touristic city that lies on the western coast of the Black Sea. A cosmopolitan place where East meets West in a perfect harmony. The oldest city in Romania was founded by the Greek colonists from Miletus, in the 7th century b.c., under the name of Tomis.
Mamaia is the Romanian Ibiza, the most exclusive summer resort in Romania.
If you choose this Black Sea tour, in a single day you could have a sunbath in Mamaia and feel the Greek and Roman vibes of Constanta.
Don't forget your beachwear and let's hit the Sun Motorway!

When you shouldn't book a tour with us..
At Eddex Travel, we highly value common sense, courtesy, and modesty, placing great importance on the good spirits of the travelers and their accompanying guide. Therefore, if you find yourself in the examples below (or similar) it might be best not to book a tour with us, because the quality of the tour and time spent together would suffer, preventing us from truly enjoying the journey:
- Punctuality when needed - we are very flexible during our tours, and whenever we know is possible, we might slightly extend your free time, lunch breaks, etc. However, when we ask you to be present at the exact time scheduled for departure or for some of the pick-ups along the way (we are usually flexible regarding less important pick-ups), please make every effort to adhere to that schedule. We recall a tourist who, after being 10–15 minutes late for the hotel pick-up (after which time we may decide to cancel the tour), asked us to wait a little longer, because he wanted to buy a coffee
. Naturally, we did not agree. Furthermore, drinking coffee in the car would not have been allowed. The fact that you book a private tour with us does not exempt you from being punctual, when needed.
- Mutual respect - since you expect from us to be polite, we expect the same from you. Please use a polite tone with the guide and refrain from making demands for additional services—services that were neither requested nor paid for at the time of booking—as these can complicate the tour or make it stressful and less enjoyable. You may politely ask if certain things would be possible, but please do not give us commands. Of course, restroom emergencies can arise, but please don't ask us to stop for a breakfast break just an hour after leaving the hotel
, if this is not part of our tour schedule, and would make the tour schedule difficult. We can take this breakfast break if it doesn't affect the tour schedule, or if you agree to skip other sights included in the itinerary. The fact that you book a private tour with us does not exempt you from the need to respect us and be polite.
- Compliance with the tour rules - private tours have rules too. Thus, for instance, if we ask you to come with a maximum of 3 pieces of luggage of a certain size (we could agree on a higher number, depending on which transportation vehicle is included in your package), please don't bring 5, because you put us in a very difficult and unpleasant situation. Moreover, if we ask you to leave the extra luggage that you have brought, in the hotel's luggage room, please comply and don't reject this option, on the grounds that you have expensive shoes in your luggage
. The fact that you book a private tour with us does not exempt you from the obligation to comply with the agreed-upon rules and conditions.
Thank you and let's make our tours a great experience for both parties.

A great tour to Constanta and Mamaia with our amazing tour guide ★★★★★ on TripAdvisor
We visited Constanta and he guided us around the old town to see the churches, mosques, and museums. Eddie gave us time to swim in the Black Sea and relax at the beach. We would absolutely recommend Eddie and Eddex Travel.

Itinerary - Bucharest to Constanta and Mamaia Day Trip
We leave Bucharest in the morning and head east to Constanta, driving on the Sun Motorway.
Once arrived to Constanta we start a nice walking tour around Ovidius Square and toward the Black Sea shore.
First stop is the Ovidiu Square - where we are close to some impressively beautiful buildings and the first one will be the Museum of National History and Archeology Constanta.
Next stop is the Roman Edifice with Mosaic where you could admire the ruins of an impressive ancient commercial center and warehouse, where the floor is covered in 1700 years old Roman mosaic.
Then we are going to stop and visit the Grand Mosque. The first building in Romania to use the reinforced concrete.
Because Romania and Dobrogea region are known as very tolerant lands after visiting a mosque we will see one of the most beautiful Orthodox churches in Romania, Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral.
Our walking tour will continue with the promenade alleys by the sea, including Constanta Casino and Tomis Harbor.
You will have free time for lunch and/or shopping and then back in the car.
While we are at the Black Sea shore, the best thing to do here is to feel the sand under your feet. Thus, after a 15 minutes car ride we are going to experience this in Mamaia, our last stop before Bucharest.
Our Black Sea tour ends in Bucharest after this charming day.
By request and only if possible - we could skip (ongoing) some of the tour components in order to have more time for others. Also, we could have a different tour configuration, based on a prior request (the tour price might be different in this case).
The order of visiting the places can be changed before or during the tour, at our sole discretion
