Accommodation Type
4-star hotel/guest house, in standard double/twin room, in double room occupancy. The rooms have en suite bathrooms and many other facilities. For example, on this tour, one of our accommodation options is Hotel Buchenland in Gura Humorului, but if unavailable or for other reasons, we will book another good rated 4-star hotel / guest house. If desired/possible we can book a 5-star hotel, for an extra fee. You can also suggest a specific accommodation option, and we can try to book it (for free or for an extra fee)

Tour payment & Cancellation
In order to confirm your reservation, You are going to pay a deposit, in most cases 5 % (but we will set the amount according to your group size and any particularities of your tour) of the tour price, and this amount is non-refundable. The rest of the tour price will be paid 30 days before the tour date/departure date, and it is non-refundable. If you will book the tour in the last 30 days up to the tour date, you will pay 100% of the tour price (or as agreed) in advance, and the tour price is non-refundable. The advance payment (deposit) will be charged via bank transfer or card via payment link (PayPal), at our choice (depending on the country of payment). For the rest of the tour price we are going to use, at our choice, the payment method (cash, bank transfer, card payment using PayPal and a payment link, card payment using in-person POS payment or some other options). If you will cancel your tour we will keep the amount you have already paid.

Itinerary - Bucovina Painted Churches and Monasteries Private Tour in 4 Days from Bucharest

Day 1

Bucharest - Gura Humorului - 455 km

Our tour starts in the morning and we head north toward Gura Humorului in Bucovina. Today we have a long drive but a lot of stops on the way. After the hotel check-in we visit Gura Humorului Monastery and Voronet Monastery, with their painted churches - part of the UNESCO heritage. Free time and overnight in Gura Humorului.

Day 2

Gura Humorului - Moldovita - Sucevita - Marginea - Arbore - Gura Humorului - 118 km

After our lazy breakfast we will visit some of the most beautiful UNESCO painted churches and monasteries in Bucovina, Moldovita, Sucevita and Arbore. On our way we will visit Marginea Black Pottery Centre. Lunch time on our way and free time at the end of the day. Overnight in Gura Humorului.

Day 3

Gura Humorului - Bicaz Gorge - Red Lake - Sighisoara - 302 km

We star our journey to Sighisoara. On our way we cross the impressive Bicaz Gorge and stop for the Red Lake. Lunch time in the area. Once arrived in Sighisoara we will do the hotel check in and you will have free time. Overnight in Sighisoara.

Day 4

Sighisoara - Viscri Village - Brasov Old Town - Sinaia - Bucharest - 304 km

After breakfast we will have a short walking tour of Sighisoara Medieval Citadel. Then we leave Sighisoara for Viscri Village, where visiting the old and beautiful fortified church will bring us back in the XIII century. Next will be Brasov Old Town, one of the most charming Transylvanian towns - lunch time around. Our last attraction will be Peles Castle, an impressive beautiful former royal summer residence.

For private tours - by request and only if possible - we could skip (ongoing) some of the tour components in order to have more time for others. Also, we could have a different tour configuration, based on a prior request (the tour price might be different in this case).

The order of visiting the places can be changed before or during the tour, at our sole discretion

Good things to know before you book this Bucovina Painted Churches and Monasteries Private Tour in 4 Days from Bucharest

This tour includes components that are not suitable for persons having walking disabilities (especially Bran Castle involves climbing stairs). Therefore, please contact us and we will try to offer the best option to you.
Between 1st of September and 14th of April Peles Castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and therefore we stop and visit only the exterior part and the gardens. For all the rest of the year Peles Castle is closed on Mondays.
Due to the traffic conditions or other reasons we cannot guarantee the return hour or the total number of hours agreed for this tour.
During weekend time and official holidays, usually the traffic level is higher and our tour could last more hours than specified.
